Tell us in a few sentences about your company’s products or services

RNN helps clients to reach their goals via communications strategies. We work in Northern Ireland and Ireland, delivering results-focused campaigns that live both on and offline.  The company’s clients include SMEs, national and international brands, and RNN has a number of divisions, including RNN Green – a dedicated service offering for clients operating in the renewables sector. 

What and where are the biggest plastics issues in your value chain?

We are a professional services company therefore reducing our plastic consumption or usage does not require the same complexity as for many other businesses. However, that said, we aim to make a difference in all that we do. 

One of the business’s values is to live responsibility and we aim to do this through small actions that can contribute to big change. The office is paperless, we offset our carbon emissions, we have reusable water bottles and coffee cups, which we also gift to clients, and we actively work with clients who have a sustainable agenda. 

We have worked with clients across multiple sectors including foodservice, construction, energy, manufacturing and agri, helping to educate consumers on the changes that our clients are making and why they matter. 

Campaigns have included European research projects on sustainability, launching new renewable technologies, delivering education and behavioural change campaigns (for both internal and external purposes) and stakeholder relations campaigns. 

Why did you decide to join the RPM Program?

We live and breathe our agency values. Living more consciously and helping to create a better society for all is embedded within the company. It’s important to support organisations who are actively promoting more responsible behaviour day in, day out, and to collaborate with others who share our values. 

PR is all about reputation and building (and protecting) your brand, therefore signing up to the RPM Program was the perfect fit for RNN. We’re delighted to have been the first (and only) PR consultancy to become a supporter, and hopefully many other professional services companies will follow suit.

Have you set a target or pledge for improved plastic management by 2025/2030?

We aim to improve our performance every single year. We’re now actively considering our clients and whom we work with based on their values around sustainability. Individually, we’re making changes to our lives through reduced consumption and making more informed choices, and as a team, we are committed to driving forward a sustainable agenda for both RNN and the clients that we work for.
