RPM Program is proud to be apart of The Business Coalition for a Global Plastics Treaty

The RPM Program is proud to be apart of the CircularEconomy , WWF and 80+ other organisations calling for an effective & ambitious UN Global Plastics Treaty.

The Business Coalition for a Global Plastics Treaty is a group of businesses and organizations that have come together to advocate for a binding international treaty on plastic pollution. The coalition was launched in 2021 and is made up of more than 80 companies from a range of industries, including consumer goods, packaging, and waste management.

The coalition aims to support the negotiation of a global plastics treaty that would establish a common framework for addressing plastic pollution, including measures to reduce plastic waste and increase recycling rates. The treaty would also encourage the development of innovative solutions to reduce plastic use and promote sustainable alternatives.

The coalition believes that a global treaty is necessary to address the growing problem of plastic pollution, as existing national and regional efforts have not been sufficient. The treaty would provide a coordinated and comprehensive approach to addressing plastic pollution, which would be beneficial for both the environment and businesses.

The Business Coalition for a Global Plastics Treaty is working to mobilize support from the private sector for a global treaty on plastic pollution, and to encourage governments to take action on this issue. By bringing together businesses and organizations from a range of industries, the coalition is demonstrating that tackling plastic pollution is a shared responsibility that requires collective action.
