GMC Utilities Group Achieves Responsible Plastic Management Program Zero Plastic to Landfill Certification for Rathcoole & Ballycoolin Yards
We are delighted to announce that GMC Utilities Group has achieved the Responsible Plastic Management (RPM) Program’s Zero Plastic to Landfill Certification for its Rathcoole and Ballycoolin yards in Dublin.
Announcing this achievement during Plastic Free July makes this recognition even more significant. Plastic Free July is an excellent backdrop for RPM to support take practical action to improve how plastic is managed. GMC Utilities Group’s certification demonstrates that meaningful progress in plastic waste reduction and recycling comes from responsible management, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The certification recognises GMC Utilities Group’s commitment to embedding responsible plastic management and sustainable waste practices into its day-to-day operations. Through effective waste segregation, diverting plastic from landfill, and working closely with waste management partners to maximise recycling and recovery opportunities, the company continues to reduce its environmental impact while supporting higher sustainability standards across the utilities and construction sector.
RPM Program provides organisations with a practical 6 step implementation plan that guide projects and teams through the process of diverting plastics from landfill through identifying opportunities to reduce, reuse and recycle plastic waste. GMC has a strong focus on effective waste management and have installed dedicated skips exist for Hard Plastics, Mixed Plastics and a dedicated skip for electrical meter boxes.
