The Construction Employers Federation (CEF) is the sole certified representative body for the construction industry in Northern Ireland. We represent approx. 70% of construction in NI and around 800 businesses of all sizes.
What developments have you made in your responsible plastic management journey?
We’ve introduced several practical changes to reduce plastic use in our office. All staff have been offered metal reusable water bottles to help cut out single-use plastic bottles. We’ve also improved our internal recycling system, with clearer signage and more accessible recycling points throughout the building.
What responsible plastic management achievements have you made in 2025 so far?
In 2025, we’ve seen an increase in recycling rates and a drop in single-use plastic items being. We’ve switched to reusable materials at events where possible and have continued to promote awareness through reminders and updates.

The RPM program is excellent and connects us to a network of experts and practical resources—helping us shape plastic-management strategies.
