The Responsible Plastic Management (RPM) Program is proud to announce that SISK has achieved Zero Plastic to Landfill Certification for the Center Parcs Longford Forest Project. This certification recognises the project’s commitment to responsible plastic management and demonstrates how sustainable waste practices can be successfully integrated into the delivery of major construction projects.
Achieving this certification during Plastic Free July makes the recognition even more meaningful. Plastic Free July provides an opportunity for organisations to take practical action to improve how plastic is managed and demonstrate measurable environmental progress. SISK’s achievement highlights how a structured approach to responsible plastic management, supported by strong collaboration and continuous improvement, can deliver meaningful environmental outcomes on major construction projects.
This project adopted a proactive approach to plastic management by implementing effective waste segregation systems, diverting plastic from landfill, and working closely with its waste management partner to maximise recycling and recovery opportunities. These actions have helped embed responsible plastic management into day-to-day site operations while supporting the project’s wider sustainability objectives.
Zero Plastic to Landfill Certification is awarded to organisations and projects that successfully implement the RPM Program’s practical six-step framework for responsible plastic management. The certification helps project teams identify opportunities to reduce plastic waste, improve segregation, strengthen recycling and recovery performance, and demonstrate measurable environmental improvement throughout the life of a project.
This certification integrates a collaboration with Centre Parcs and Mulleadys Waste and further reinforces SISK’s commitment to delivering projects in a more sustainable way. By integrating responsible plastic management into site operations, the company continues to demonstrate how environmental responsibility can be embedded into the delivery of major construction projects while setting a positive example for the wider construction industry.
