TELL US IN TWO SENTENCES ABOUT YOUR COMPANY, PRODUCTS OR SERVICES
The Construction Employers Federation (CEF) is the sole certified representative body for the construction industry in Northern Ireland. We represent approx. 70% of construction in NI and around 800 businesses of all sizes.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN RPM PROGRAM?
We recognise the significant environmental impact of plastic waste and our responsibility to promote sustainable practices. Joining this program aligns with our commitment to encourage waste reduction and innovative solutions which minimise the industry’s environmental footprint.
Participating in this program provides us with the resources, expertise, and network to help inform effective plastic management strategies and best practice which we can share with the industry.
WHAT DEVELOPMENTS HAVE YOU MADE IN YOUR RESPONSIBLE PLASTIC MANAGEMENT JOURNEY?
Internally CEF has established recycling procedures in our office, ensuring that plastic waste is properly sorted, collected, and sent to recycling facilities.
Additionally, a member of the CEF team has completed the online RPM Plastic Literacy Training Course to understand plastics and its environmental impact and to help inform future activity.
WHAT ARE YOUR 2024 PLASTIC FREE JULY GOALS?
CEF is committed to monitoring and reducing plastic use in our office and at events where possible.
We plan to continue to increase our office plastic recycling rates ensuring that recyclable plastics are properly processed and repurposed.
We will also actively engage with the 2024 Plastic Free July campaign online via social media which will help sign post members to RPM activities, resources and to raise awareness of the benefits of reducing plastic use.
